Chapter 7 – Yan-Oko

By the time we reached Yan-Oko, I was cured, or at least well enough to tackle Vax in bed. Shannon and I giggled and hugged and said our good-byes as she set down at probably one of the only ports that could handle her. Yan-Oko was at the center of governmental politics and so sported a fantastic landing facility. It was so big that Dullas Airport back home could have fit quite easily into even the smaller landing pads. It was a city unto itself.

Shannon waved to me from just inside her entryway. She told me as I left that she was going to keep up the human protodroid form if it were acceptable to me. She explained that she had been wishing to take on a more permanent shape in which to greet passengers, but couldn’t decide on a race. Now she had. I said that it would be like having a sister, and it was settled. I promised to stay in touch with her and gave her my com code so she could write to me. Then I kissed her softly on the lips and was gone. It really was like leaving my sister. I had to sniff back a tear as I settled into the taxi that had arrived for me.

The first thing that Vax did upon meeting me was to take me to bed. No sooner had we stepped into his room (which was lavish, and again I wondered about what he did for the MSD) then he placed his finger to my lips and ushered me into the bedroom. Maybe it is the custom of his people to make love upon greeting old friends, if so, I bet his race doesn’t have too many enemies. Either way, it is a fabulous means to say ‘hello, I missed you.’

When we were both happily exhausted, Vax wanted to hear all about my adventures. He too had read the tabloids and was eager to hear my side of the story. I said that it really wasn’t as romantic as the news made it out to be, but went on to tell the tale in full Kzin flavor.

“Amazing,” he said when I was finished. “And you are fully recovered from your… abduction?”

I grinned. “Well, perhaps not completely… I’m still horny!”

“Still?!” He said in mock horror. “What shall we do?”

“Hmmm…” I replied, scratching my chin. “I guess you’ll have to keep having sex with me until I’m better.”

“I hope I’m up to the task.”

“You seem to be,” I said reaching under the covers.

“Indeed!”

We didn’t leave the bed that entire day except to eat and pee, and most of our eating was done there as well. Finally, many hours later, I rolled off his hips in utter contentment and proclaimed myself “fully recovered.”

Vax took time off work, which made me feel a bit guilty at first, but he assured me that there was nothing in the universe he would rather be doing than spending his free-time with little old me. I blushed and felt warm and cozy and loved. While we were on our way to dinner that night, Vax explained a bit about what he was doing on Yan-Oko.

“Government and corporate politics are almost one and the same it seems. Marhead’s primary headquarters is right here on Yan, as is my main office.
